about 101 Pit Bulls
Hi! That's me up above with my sweet girl, Blueberry. My name is Kelley and I am not a photographer (yet) nor a writer, but I am a proud mother of pit bulls. The idea for 101 Pit Bulls idea started as a project that brought together some friends to photograph pit bull type dogs and make a coffee table book. I knew that if I loved taking pictures of my dogs then it would be really easy to get other pibble owners living in Richmond to participate. So, I put out a call for entries, or "models" you could say, for pit bull type dogs living in the greater Richmond area and the response was overwhelming! After reading through almost 200 hundred submissions, meeting over 100 dogs, and witnessing the unconditional love from their families, I realized 101 Pit Bulls was bigger than a coffee table book.
The publication of 101 Pit Bulls has given the Richmond community the opportunity to share the importance of rescuing pit bull type dogs, one by one. Our hope is to continue spreading love and awareness for our wonderful companions by traveling to other cities and publishing more books that promote positive conversation for a pit bull friendly community.
Submissions for the next book have closed but we would still love for you to submit your pit for our blog!
